SME Qualification Criteria

These criteria will be used by the RFID Professional Institute in reviewing subject-matter expert (SME) candidates for the RFID Professional Institute certification program.

Primary Criteria

Education and Experience

  • Ten years' minimum education and/or professional experience
     

  • At least five years of hands-on experience in the RFID or AIDC industry
     

  • Current RFID/AIDC position
     

  • Related work and job position history
     

Professional Development

Demonstrated currency with RFID technology in the form of presentations given, papers published, awards, patents or other forms of recognition.

Secondary Criteria

An objective for the Institute is to have a representative balance in respect to the following:

  • Demographics
     

  • Country of origin/residence and employment (Asia, America, Europe)
     

  • Academia, professional service provider, equipment/systems supplier
     

  • Large multinational companies, small to medium domestic companies
