PROFESSIONALISM THROUGH CERTIFICATION
The Institute for RFID Education, Research and Certification
THE FOUNDERS
A group of 12 RFID professionals came together in 20212 because they were concerned that CompTIA withdrawal of its RFID+ certification meant the RFID industry no longer had a formal professional certification scheme to promote professionalism in the industry. They decided to form an institute for this purpose with the mission:
"To promote the public good by fostering high levels of professionalism through standardized, independent, vendor-neutral certification exams developed by relevant subject matter experts."
The RFID International Institute was formed in June 2012 and in November 2014 changed its name to the RFID Professional Institute to better reflect the Institute's objectives.
THE FOUNDERS
The founding members of the institute were all experienced professionals from across the RFID industry. They served on a totally voluntary unpaid basis for three year terms. Though they are no longer involved in the institute, we acknowledge them for their effort to launch the organization and create the first exam.
