Global EPC Gen2 UHF RFID Regulatory Status
GS1 have released an update of their guide to the regulatory status for using RFID in the EPC Gen2 (860 to 960 MHz) band of the UHF spectrum

RFID Professional Institute Remote Exams
The RFID Professional Institute have completed the development and testing of their facility for candidates to take the Institute exams remotely.
Candidates have been able to take the exams in person since 2014 but many candidates expressed a preference to be able to take the exams at any time and in their own environment.

The RFID Professional Institute have completed the development and testing of their Professional Level Certification exam.

EU Regulation Update
AIM, GS1, Connectwave and RAIN have successfully lobbied the European Union to allocate bandwidth in the 915 - 921 MHz range for UHF passive RFID

RFID Tags As Sensors
A team at the MIT Auto-ID Lab,a founding member of the global group of uto-ID Labs, have developed a new Gen2 tag that can sense spikes in glucose in the air and send that information back to the reader.
The development team included the legendary Professor Sanjay Sarma who led the development of the original EPC concept and protocol.
